Stopped at the Moon for lunch today. Had this one.
A - A nice deep brown color with about a finger of head. Great lacing on the pint glass.
S - Some chocolatey malts. Fairly subdued but pleasant aroma.
T - Extremely nice smooth taste. Chocolate malts and a tiny touch of hops. Great balance. Not a whole lot of roastiness, just a smooth brew.
M - Nice medium body.
D - Excellent. If you're in the mood for a brown for a session this could be a go-to. Also pairs well with the French Onion soup there and I could see it being a great complement for steaks as well.

Thanks to akeeper for hooking a brother up (literally) with a growler out of the blue. Brand new release of this one for fall 2006! New recipe? Not sure...
Served in a pint glass at just above fridge temperature.
A - Deep brown color with a mahogany and/or cherrywood cast. Head is cafe au lait tan -- thick and creamy with good staying power. Lacing is decent but not amazing.
S - Big hazelnut and dessert coffee notes along with chocolate bready notes. Very tasty smelling.
T - Toasted chocolate dominates the taste of this one, but totes along a side of coffee and Irish soda-bread. Finish is medium dry wihtout any overt hoppiness - although you know it's there. Amazingly, the cloying factor is very low for such a sweet tasting beer.
M - Watery and refreshing on the intake. Mildly carbonated with a quicik finsh. Some might find it a bit thin, but for this style, it's close to the way I like it.
D - I could probably polish off a growler of this myself, it's so easy. The only hindrances would be the facts that it's a bit sweet, and with over 200 reviews, I definitely know better.

This was a very mediocre brew. Not bad, but nothing special about it. It was a brownish-orangish rather than brown. I did not pick up on much of a nutty aroma or taste, as the name implies. The head was decent to begin with, but soon faded to hardly a lacing. The only up-side was that it did not leave any offensive taste in the mouth, and was decent enough to have a second. After two, I switched to the oatmeal stout, which I highly recommend.

Appearance: Pours a deep brown/copper with a creamy head, then a sticky lace.
Aroma: A toffee and grain aroma with some roastiness.
Taste and Mouthfeel: A nice grain flavor with notes of caramel and toffee. There are roasted and nutty flavors as well. The mouthfeel, though a little coarse, is light to medium-bodied with mild carbonation.
Mellow and drinkable, makes a great session beer (and I didnt have to go through an entire growler in one session to prove it though I did). Recommended.

Served as part of a sampler tray at their brewpub. This beer looked more orangey-red than brown with maybe a hint of amber in there. Thin head, nice clarity. The aroma gives off bitter nuts, like tannic bitter acorns or almonds. The taste is dry, bitterly harsh, tannic and the body is paper thin. Low in complexity, depth and drinkability. Some residual sweetness comes through in the finish. A poor excuse for a English Nut Brown Ale, once you have had Sammy Smiths you might scoff at this one.

A clear, deep amber/chestnut body is capped by a thin white head that drops shortly to a nice collar and leaves some thin lace. Nutty, toasted malts and light spicy/grassy hops greet the nose. A light/medium body is enhanced by a fine carbonation that gently caresses the tongue. The flavor displays a perfectly restrained maltiness that's well balanced by understated bitterness. It's caramelish with a light touch of chocolate. It finishes dry with some gently lingering malt and grassy hop flavor from Goldings. Very nice, and very British (although the yeast is quite clean). It must be great on handpump! Certainly worth trying.
