Our Honey Ale reflects a sweet touch of Wyoming’s ranching heritage. This light, mildly hopped pale ale is brewed with Pale, Carmel and Munich malts along with 3 pounds of Sundance, Wyoming’s Devil’s Tower Honey per barrel.

i was excited for this one, I like honey in styles that aren’t blondes and things super light, give me a little malt with it most of the time, even some roast, honey is cool in this beer context, and its certainly appreciable in this one, but the beer overall isn’t great, the ferment is off a bit, what seems like its supposed to be a flavorless yeast strain is kind of stressed and estery, maybe done too warm, underpitched, something like that, and the beer is thin and funny overall as a result, almost cheap tasting, which is a shame because the honey part is delicious, sweet in a different place than these kilned malts are sweet, earthy in a different way than the grain toast, and floral in a way that lightens the whole thing quite a lot, get the ferment cleaned up and this is a darn drinkable and unique amber, but it misses a little for me because of how it is, particularly in the finish. nutty up front, some amount of residual sugar later, almost no hops. so much potential here, but its not quite there. the honey aspect is great though, i hope they dial this one in...
