Bottle to glass mug.
The appearance was a muggy brown color with a finger's worth of white foamy head sliding off at a decent pace. Some messy lace tried to coat the glass but ended up stringing out fairly nice looking.
The aroma had some glazed sweet nuts, a touch of melon (odd to me) and some dark toast.
The flavor was mildly sweet through the blend of the prior mentioned aromas. A soft sweet nuttiness slides into the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Decent carbonation and ABV. Mild finish of nuts, melon and some dark toast.
Overall, in all my years of drinking Brown ales, why the melon? Hmmmmmm....beats me. Not sure if it was intentional but at least it wasn't distracting. I could come back to this if handed a glass.

From the 650 ml. bottle with no date to be found. Sampled on December 28, 2014

The pour is a cloudy brown tone under a decent sized two-finger off-white head. Sediments.

The aroma is more malt forward than anything else. Not a lot in the way of brown nuttiness. Something like melon too.

The body is around medium but feels sort of creamy.

The taste has a dominant grainy and caramel malt character with a mild earthy bitterness on the finish.

a burgundy /brown clean pour with 2 fingers of cream colored head. nice retention and sticky lacing!
smells like a cross of a malty amber ale and a nutty hopped up brown ale.
tastes slightly bitter up front, with a sweet caramel like malt backbone. subtle nuttyness, very mellow flavored beer.
medium body, very creamy, medium carbonation.
nothing TOO special in this one, but it really is very tasty! glad i picked it up at least to try it.

22oz bottle, hand labeled

I assume this will be a rotating release. Pours a light reddish brown color with a small tan head. Excellent balance here sweet caramel malts with an assertive hop character. Medium/light bodied very drinkable. I really like the direction Cricket Hill is taking with these 22oz releases.
