12oz can pours out a darker gold color with decent clarity and a smaller white head; resiny and bitter-smelling, the hops are here as well as a generous malt base that disguises this one as a beer bigger than its sub-6% abv. Piney and floral, earthy and somewhat spicy, with no can-dating I can't quite tell if its old with a toffee-like malt presence, or if it just fits into the bitter, hoppy old-school profile that they're going for. Either way, pretty enjoyable.

this is really sturdy, thought it was pushing 8% abv when i first tasted it, borderline shocked to see it this low, its malty and bitter and big, feels like it was built to tackle the wyoming winter wind, rarely would i call a beer beastly at this strength, but here we are. im wondering if my can was a little old, but this smelled and tasted malty enough to be a double, crystal heavy, and there was a little oxidation in it, still frothy feeling and alive and balanced, just big and dense and sort of from the 90s. the hop profile is old school too, smells bitter and piney, tastes like gin and citrus, with some harshness but not greenness, like its not overdosed in the dry hop, just bittered aggressively and perhaps boiled real long, fully extracted, and with the concentrated malt profile there is a lot of flavor here. for me this tastes like a product of a bygone era, and lacking freshness and packing a little metallic tinge, its not amazing, but its also a different kind of ipa than is on trend right now, and i respect that, whether they intended it to be quite this burly or not, i dont know. not all that well refined, but freshness could be part of it. no mistaking it anyway, one of their more identifiable beers. a little much for the dead of summer, but not bad...

Poured transparent golden amber with a very short white head.
Aroma is good, piney and sweet green grass hops, smells like an IPA.
The taste was good but not great, rather curious actually.
The feel was even more curious, at first blush it was like water but as it warmed it smoothed out.
OA, glad to have tried it, thanks Jammin!

Single can bought at Liquor Shed. No dating.

Pretty clear for the style, nice gold colour, good head of foam.

Big pine and grapefruit aromas that seem more bitter than they should be. Even for a West Coast, of which this is supposedly not. Little bit of dankness.

Yikes, this is bitter, but not in a good way. Pine and grapefruit, yes, but it takes me to a place that I don't desire. Mild dankness helps some. Deeper into the session and I get more used to the flavours and it ain't half bad.

Good mouthfeel.

I was pretty unimpressed with it originally but it turned out decent in the end.
