Introducing our barleywine for those cold days (both literally and figuratively) as it will surely warm you up. This heavy hitting brew is full of malty flavor with notes of caramel. Careful not to drink too much as you may find yourself "barley walkin' home."

On tap at the brewery, served in a snifter.
Appearance: Ruby brown — very pretty — with a small white head that lingered and left plenty of finely-bubbled lacing.
Nose: Dried fruit, alcohol, toffee.
Mouthfeel: Thick, smooth, adequate carbonation.
Attack: Follows the nose, but not as fully flavored as I would have anticipated.
Finish: Hop bitterness appropriate to style.
Overall: To my knowledge, this is Wind River’s first attempt at a Barleywine, and it’s a respectable start. Not being a brewer, I’m not qualified to suggest how to increase the fullness of flavor, but this is a good brewery, and I expect their next Barleywine will be even better.
