Even though Schwarzbier means “black beer” in German, don’t let its dark color intimidate you. This beer is light and easy drinking with hints of caramel and roasted coffee … so let’s party!

On tap at the brewery, served in a pint glass.
Look: Black, with 1/4” tan head that dissipated into a foam ring and left abundant finely-bubbled lacing.
Nose: Dark roast and coffee.
Attack: Gentle dark roast flavor dead on for style, and strongly of coffee to follow.
Finish: The coffee lingers.
Mouthfeel: Mediun thin — appropriate to style — but perhaps a little too heavy on the carbonation.
Overall: Very drinkable — a great session Schwarzbier, and the flavor profile is excellent. Reduce the carbonation a bit, and this will be an outstanding Schwarzbier.
