A traditional German dark lager, our dunkel has notes of chocolate and toasted bread. This malt forward beer comes off pleasantly sweet but finishes clean and brisk. Whether you are spending your winter days on the mountain, or in front of the fireplace, our dunkel will help you feel cozy and warm. 16 IBU

Served on tap at the brewery in a pint glass.
Look: Very dark brown, with a half inch light tan head with good retention that left plenty of finely-bubbled lacing.
Nose: Medium dark roast, brown sugar.
Attack: The first thing sensed is the carbonation, then the flavor follows the nose as to the roast, then a little chocolate appears.
Finish: A little bitterness balances the attack.
Mouthfeel: Medium thin — appropriate to style — but more than a little too much carbonation.
Overall: The flavor under the carbonation is solid but is unfortunately overwhelmed by the carbonation. If the brewer can work to reduce the carbonation, they’ve got a very drinkable winner here.
