On tap at the brewpub.
A: Bright, transluscent copper with a thin head.
S: Hmm...a strange combination of soy, light citrus, and alcohol. The latter of the three is rather jarring for this style, and I'm not sure that I like this level of saltiness in an APA either.
T: There's not too much going on with this brew. There's a light sweetness upfront followed by a nice hop flavored finish. Were the beer done there this would be good enough; unfortunately, it has a funky soapy aftertaste that really left a bad taste in my mouth.
M: Fluffy and smooth.
D: Pretty low for an APA, mostly because of the aftertaste and minimal hop presence.
I appreciate the attempt to brew an organic APA, but the folks at SRBL will have to work out some of the kinks in this recipe if they want to make this anything more than a eco-friendly novelty.
