I had this on-tap in a pint glass at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a light haze and a pretty strong effervescence. Head is a pretty thin layer of white foam, but otherwise this Lady's looking pretty good.

Smell: a nice aroma of banana, malt and a light sweetness. I approve.

Taste: a light, sweet malt with a little bit of toastiness and a hint of caramel. There's also a bit of a banana flavor, no doubt due to a Belgian yeast strain. The little bits of sweet and fruity character really do it for me.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a moderate carbonation. Decently creamy, though not outstanding.

Overall: a darn good Belgian single. I could drink loads of this.

Pours a light orange into Delirium Tremens Tulip.

Three fingers of white head.
Light, crisp smell. Light fruits. Not a true Belgium smell. Maybe a bit bland.
Sweet taste, but not much of it.
Really light bodied. I
f you want a cheap Belgium knock off, this isn’t that close. Nothing special.

A: Poured a nice rich golden color with good carbonation leaving a small white cap

S: Some light spice, apple and pear

T: Starts out with a light floral hop, candy and spice, some pear and Belgian yeast follow and there is a diacetyl note to this beer from which I draw green apple. A little booze sting led me to believe this beer was well above 5% ABV

M: Sweet, lighter bodied, perhaps a tad bit overcarbed

O: Pretty good

One of my favorite brews from a brewery that I'm a fan of, I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. Poured into tulip. Poured a nice dark golden straw color with about an inch of white head that had moderate retention and light lacing.

The aroma has a bit of sweetness over a solid grain background. There's also a bit of spice and yeast dancing around the olfactory system. The flavors are an expanded version of the scents, earthy grains, spice, yeast and just a touch of sweetness.

The is full, smooth and well rounded. Drinkability is excellent (as the gallons of this beer I've consumed over the years testifies). Overall, a nice little beer that you can have several of on an afternoon. Worth seeking out.

Serving type - Bottle into goblet

A - Pours a transparent, slightly darker golden hue, with minimal head and lacing. Visible yeast.

S - Smell is of pears and belgian candi sugars.

T - Taste is of pears and light belgian candi sugar up front, with just a hint of hops at the end for balance. Not a powerful or assertive flavor profile, just light and refreshing.

M - Light/Medium mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Pretty basic.

D - The light body and low ABV make it a session-friendly Belgian-style pale.

Overall - This is more of a light, refreshing take on a belgian-style golden ale. Those looking for a big, complex flavor profile like it's bigger brethren are best looking elsewhere. Those looking for a light, sesssionable ale with Belgian-like flavors will enjoy this.

A: Pours a light golden color almost zero head whatsoever...looks like its been sitting out on the table all afternoon
S: Smell is of bananas, slight citrusy lemon scent as well
T: Taste is fruity, bananas with some lemon and corriander in there
M: Lighter bodied beer, finishes slightly dry
D: Pretty easy drinking beer, I could see this being a pretty good warm weather session beer.

Hazy amber with a good sized white head and plentiful lacings. Aroma is Belgian yeast. Taste is sweet and sour. Belgian yeast strain with candi sugar fair amount of hops. Carbonation is just enough and some astringency on the tongue. A fine session beer.
Edit 06-14-2010.
Bottle lists abv at 4.4% not 5.00%. Very tasty for such a low abv. Nice intro to the Belgian beer flavors.

A: radiant dark and light orange colors with a splash of gold and just a touch of cloudiness. This beer shines like a beacon in the glass. I gave it a strong pour and was unimpressed by the the foamy cap. It conjured just a few trickles of stringy lace with a blob or two

S: wheats, grains, and caramel malts. Clean and dry in the nose with some spiced hops and maybe just a tinge of cloves. Some light skinned fruits as well

T: a hearty dose of grains, lead prominently by wheat and yeast flavors. Sweeter side has soft caramel notes that mingle with crisp, sometimes spiced, fruit flavors. I taste sliced bananas with orange rinds mixed with a few dried cloves. If any hops are in the mix they take on a floral-leafy tea flavor, complimenting the fruit flavors. Overall this beers character is very light and crisp, nothing showboats or steals the show

M: very light and airy body with continued bubble movement throughout. The flavors present have the tendency to cancel each other out and leave a soft dryness on the tongue

D: I find this beer very drinkable and, in one word, "lightly refreshing"

Reviewed on 9/30/08. Bottle courtesy of scrizzz. Pours a hazy orange with a small white ring of head. Aroma and flavor of melon rind, Belgian yeast, and light fruits with a slightly hoppy finish. Very drinkable and quite tasty for an American-brewed Belgian ale. I don't know why this gets such a low average. Nice, yeasty, fruity, and tasty.

A - Poured out a pretty fizzy, golden yellow/auburn color with a small foamy, white head. No lace.

S - It smelled very fruity, dried fruits mostly. Also, notes of clove and yeast.

T - It had a sweet candy sugar flavor with a nice dried fruit taste (plum, pear and maybe some apple). A nice yeasty taste, too.

M - It was crisp and sharp with a smooth finish. A light bodied beer.

D - I think they've done a nice job making a Belgian-style ale. Very drinkable and tasty.

Reminds me of La Find de Monde.

Poured from a standard 12oz bottle in a large wine glass. There wasn't as much head as a was expecting and it left minimal lacing. Nose was nice, fruity like bananas and pears with some esters in the background. Taste is good and the fruity bananas come right through. Mouthfeel is medium but the carbonation is a bit finer than it should be. Overall this is a good beer from Dicks that I would recommend.

cheers

Dick's Silk Lady poured a opaque looking dark yellow white. It had a 2 finger foam head that left some nice sea foam lacing.

The smell was yeasty and of coriander. Also got some citrus tones in there as well. The taste was yeasty all the way with some malty in the background. It was pretty fruity all the way through the 12 ounces. In the mouth it was highly carbonated and left a maltiness on the tongue. Overall I found it to be an enjoyable beer.

12oz bottle purchased at Huckleberry's in Spokane for $1.69. No freshness date.

Poured a somewhat dark, honey color that took on a more apricot hue when held up to the light. One inch of off-white foam for a head. Spotty lace.

The nose was fruity, tart and earthy. The fruitiness reminded me of apricots, while the tart notes were coriander-ish. There's some bananna notes as well. In the backgroundis a slightly funky earthy scent. The nose was stronger than I expected, frankly. I've learned to be suspicious of U.S. takes on Belgian-style beers.

Taste is similar to the smell. This is a fruity beer that is kept from being too fruity by a mild tartness and spiciness. While not a great tasting beer, it's definitely a good tasting one.

Mouthfeel is better than many U.S. stabs at Belgian styles, but could still use some improvement, as it doesn't quite have that light, effervescent touch to the tongue that one can equate to the real deal. Fairly light bodied and refreshing.

Not a life-changing beer by any stretch of the imagination, but still tasty. Kudo's to Dick's for making a beer in a style that nods in the direction of Belgium without being a high-abv boozebomb. Seems like a good choice if you want a Belgian-accented lawnmower beer.

Got this from RoryGilmore, cheers Rick!

Pours honey/amber with one pinky of pearl white head. Average head retention & lacing

S: Appleskins

T: Appleskins, white pepper & some grapefruit hops up front. More citric hops & apples as this warms. finishes crisp with a touch of apple & lemon zest, almost pulled a 4.0, more flavor depth needed IMO

MF: Medium bodied & semi-spritzy

Drank pretty easy, not a remarkable BPA, but quaffable enough on a nice summer's evening
