I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the Hillside in Seattle, WA. According to the brewery website, this beer was called Au-GFC when it was brewed last year.
Appearance: medium gold with a light haze and moderate effervescence. Par for the style.
Smell: light to nonexistent aroma. Could just be serving temperature, but even so there is basically nothing here.
Taste: there's a sweet maltiness but this is tinged with a little bit of a cloying off-flavor. It's OK but not great.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and decent creaminess. Easily this beer's best trait.
Overall: it's kind of a bland shot at a golden ale. This style really has to be flawless to be tasty, and Golden Gorilla is not.
