A: Poured a deep copper color with good carbonation presenting a nice white cap, lacing and bubbles

S: Grains, peat and caramel

T: Caramel, sticky sweetness, light peat and grains

M: Mouthfeel is sticky, sweet, warm from booze and peat.

O: A beer that made me say WOW! Awesome brew and a tribute to the style IMHO.

First off I would probably put this in a Wee Heavy category with its alcohol content.I poured into my Isle of Arran stange with a copper brown (like the label says) with a well defined 1/2 finger head that was gone pretty quickly atop.Great complexity to the aromas, what really stands out to me is the plum and raisin notes, more plum than raisin, lightly smoked malt and caramel malt comes into play as well.Toffee and raisin flavors at the onset with just enough smokiness to balance the fruit with a decent dryness in the finish.A tad thin in the feel but this a top notch Wee Heavy, one of the best I have had, great malt complexity going on here.

Poured into 10oz glass. Poured a clean, clear ruby-brown color with a thin cap of tan head, that immediately settled into just a ring, that had no retention or lacing.

The strong, smoky peat scent really pops you in the nose. In some examples of the style the peat is just a whisper, here it's a full out William Wallace war whoop! On the tongue the smoke and peat again dominate, but the underlying grain shows through nicely and there's a bit of yeast spice to make things interesting.

The body was very good, perhaps a bit thinner than most. The fact that the body was a bit thin maybe helped the drinkability, because I eagerly finished off the 22. Overall, an excellent brew. This is one of my least favorite styles, but I can see returning to this beer again and again. Worth actively seeking out.
