From 500ml bottle, accompanying creamed haddock and mushrooms. Dark copper, quite clear. Aroma primarily a mix of maltyness and mild hops. Aggressively poured to have a fingers width head of fine foam which settled to lacing all the way down. Roasty bitterness up front, nicely complimented by hops for a prolonged finish. Very nicely balanced.

Dark copper with hints of brown, there is a white head that is about the width of an index finger and settles to a fine lacing pretty quickly.
Quite light on the nose with some faint malts and perhaps a little vanilla along with some caramel too.
There is a good mix of the previously mentioned caramel and vanilla along with some butterscotch in the taste.
Medium to full bodied with a smooth and creamy feel and some nice, mild bitter notes towards the end.
This was a beer that was easy enough to drink and not as bitter as I had feared going in. I wouldn't go as far as to say it was a great beer but it was certainly drinkable and one I had no problem finishing.
