Bottle, Booths Penrith.
Pours black with Ruby hints. Mild, nutty aroma. Mild taste. Not much too it, I wouldn't have been surprised if it were 1% lower in abv and sold as a dark Mild. Inoffensive.

500 ml bottle, a Christmas present from my nephew Einar, thanks! ABV is 4.6%. Black colour, big to moderate tan head, nice lacing. Moderate aroma of roasted malts, some fruity hints. The flavour is crisp, fairly dry and moderately roasty throughout, hints of lemons (is Cascade in a stout really a good idea?). Very drinkable, but not the most impressive stout I’ve had.

Cask. Black with a thin tight cream coloured head. Sustained lacing.
Smells of burnt toast and tastes similar. This provides a light charred bitterness.
Nice cask conditioned feel.
Given the other reviews I guess it's much better on cask.

Poured into glass black with plum highlights and one finger foam. Nice creamy body and mild carbonation. Mouth is bland and watery for a stout, with hints of roasted malts and caramel, not very bitter. Overall: rather dull yet not unpleasant.

A: poured from a 500 mL bottle into a pint glass, dark brown almost black with a huge frothy light tan head that lingers leaving good lacing, clear
S: heavy on malt, roasty, slight coffee
T: sweet and malty up front, slight cola, very little hop bitterness
M: thinner with low carbonation
O: malt forward stout

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of June 2014, so it's a bit out of date. Hope it's still good. Picked up ages ago from a supermarket. Described on the label as an award-winning traditional stout.
A: Poured into a dimpled pint mug. A dark chestnut-brown hue that appears pitch black in the glass. Yields a large head of creamy beige foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Lovely lacing.
S: Aroma of roasted malt with hints of burnt grain, ground coffee, subtle molasses, a twinge of cocoa, earthy yeast and faint stewed leaves.
T: Tastes of rich roasted malt with a dry, bitter finish. Notes of burnt grain, dark malt, roasted coffee, mild molasses, a hint of cocoa, earthy yeast and stewed leaves. Well-attenuated, followed by a strident, malt-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with effervescent carbonation and a slightly insubstantial body for the style. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter roasted malt, burnt notes and stewed leaves.
O: A decent stout, and certainly more characterful than some of their other brews. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are replete with roasted malt and coffee notes. A solid bitterness rounds it off nicely. Body is OK but could stand to be a shade creamier. Goes down easily enough - worth sampling if you have the chance.
