Lovely copper orange color with plenty of foam. Tangy and sweet at the same time. Pleasant roasted malt aroma.
Malty with a rusty sort of note. A little sugary but the dark hops bitter up the finish. Actually, the bittering hops just keep on giving and giving. But the caramel fights back. Crazy stuff. I don't think it will replace the Barleywine concept.
Blindfolded and told the beer name, I'd have said it was brewed by Legacy. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market in San Diego.

On tap at the brewery, 4/17/2010.
Pours orange/red, hazy, with white head. Not much retention or lacing.
Aroma is very fruity in every sense. Caramel, cherry, grapefruit, and orange.
Flavor follows suit but it has hint of butter and a lot of strawberry flavor and mellon. It's almost like a fruit salad. It sounds like it would be really good but its just alright.
Medium body, drinkable.
