Sampled 5/28/2011 at the new brewery.
Pours hazy yellow, low head and lacing, some retention.
Aroma is woody (fresh oak), some pine, and some malt. Not a lot going on other than a lot of oak.
Flavor is heavy on the wood, I'm guessing a barrel and not oak chips. Some fruit (pineapple and orange) along with some earthy notes but mostly it's just the oak and malt. I also get a tangy almost tart lemon quality. Not bad for an oaked IPA, if that's a style.
Body is medium, could stand to be a bit lighter.
