Sampled 5/28/2011 at the new brewery during the 5th anniversary party.
Pours black, hazy, beige/brown head, decent retention, nice lacing.
Aroma is roast, and more roast, along with some booze and caramel. There is a touch of ash covered chocolate in the background.
Flavor is painfully roasty. Integrated into all that roast is chocolate, malt, lots of bitterness, a splash of earthy hops, plenty O' booze, and some fruit.
Body is medium and kind of oily. Too much for me to enjoy.
