Dark Brown in colour. Thin elusive head. Very little carbonation.
Smell of coffee and roasted malt flavours. Taste of smooth chocolate malts and fudge. Mild aftertaste.
As for drinkability, I was surprised twice, first by the almost porter like appearance and aroma, second by the ease at which it goes down.
Possibly it could work together with an easter sandwich, dark bread with cheese and eggs, but most likely it is most enjoyable on it's own.

One of the first easterbeers to be sampled by me this year.
A: Very dark brown with a tendency to blackness. A very thin lace can be seen for a little while before it disappears.
S: Licorice, Coffee, Roasted malt, Candysugar.
T: Coffee, Ash, Licorice, Milkchocolate, Tar.
M: Medium body with a nice bitterness at the end. Quite smooth.
D: Considering this feels almost like a porter, i'd say this one is a sipper.
Stallhagen has yet again produced a fine beer. Try this one with some of that easterchocolate and you'll have a excellent pairing. Recommended!

The colour is very dark brown (almost black); the liquid is opaque. The low tan head sinks down into a very thin ring; minimal lacing.
The smell is loaded with dried fruits, roasted dry malt and sweet chocolate toffee. It is medium strong.
The taste is very roasted, dry and malted with a hint of alcohol. In fact, it reminds me more of a porter than a (German) black lager. There is a light fruity flavour as well as hints of cocoa and mild coffee. The aftertaste brings some delicate bitterness and a creamy flavour of coffee candy.
The carbonation is mild, medium bubbles. The liquid is a bit thick.
A surprisingly mild, yet flavourful and balanced dark lager with a twist of English Porter. A very elegant after dinner brew.
