old chicago mesa...
unfiltered?...crystal clear orange kool-aid color/pale orange gold with a small white head which fades quickly.
smells fake... a bit dusty, butterscotch/buttery caramel and orange. not much to it.
the flavor has a faint orange note albeit artificial... along with vanilla, cinnamon, muddy/dirty and a dry mildly spiced finish. the body is light to medium and leaves a sticky residue on the palate.
sad to say that this was vastly improved by the orange serve with it...

"Mandarin Madness" is the current name, but it seems this may have been discontinued, with good reason. The amateurish label actually looks like an angry brown orange, wtf?
Murky glowing orange, semi-opaque with steadily rising streams of carbonation. Loose carbonation, medium sized bubbles that could signal an infection unfortunately. The foam eventually breaks after a few minutes.
Smells like rotting oranges, very overripe oranges that still have a sickly sweet quality, but something spoiled and starting to rot. Yuck.
Highly astringent, very strange for a hefeweizen, clearly showing signs of infection. Somehow it's not terrible, but likely not what was intended. Sour orange, clean and tart, not all that sweet. Biting astringent carbonation, somehow it finishes really dry though, with very little aftertaste besides oranges.
Tweak the recipe and call it an orange Berliner Weisse, you might have something. This is a bit too messy to be anything i'd ever look for again.

Good beer. Not a hefe fan but it was good. The citrus was prominent, cloudy beer and very robust. My wife is a hefe fan and liked it alot. I had a few other brews here and liked the variety, especially in IPAs. Overall, good place and goodbeer. Much better than Four Pukes Brewery!
