I had been wanting and waiting to try this beer for a long while, given it is so unique, right up my alley flavor wise and from Wasatch, one of my favorite local brewers. Only available on tap at their brewpub(s), it was even better.
I finally got to have it. It was awesome.
Look: Has a Deep Red-Gold look to it. Good sized head, with great retention. Very appealing and appetizing.
Smell: Definitely smell the Jalapeño in it. Smell isn't too overbearing at all though, just very strong.
Taste: Oh, the taste. The Jalapeño surprisingly and pleasantly doesn't bash your tounge, rather it lingers and moves around with a smooth light burn, with the soothing cream flavor coming in afterwards.
Feel: As stated above, it feels surprisingly smooth, but very balanced, since there is a little bit of roughness as well when it is first drank or agitated in the mouth. Not extremely smooth, but it isn't really rough either. Great balance.
Overall: One of the best and unique beers I've had. I am glad Wasatch was successful in pulling this creation off very well. I wish they would bottle and sell it! If you get the chance (and love spicy flavors and/or different-unique beers), TRY IT!
