Another fine performer sent by Wasatch in a nice trade.
This Wasatch P.A. started off with a crystal clear amber with a thin, but ring lacey ivory head. The only drawback to this brew is the filtering bottle conditioning would enhance this brew greatly.
Nice aroma of citrus and grapefruit bubbled up as I poured into my lil Schlafly taster glass. Solid taste, both woody and grainy with a sturdy push of floral hops.
Dry and tangy, it slid down well. And I liked the 5.5% abv. , which supplied a nice bite to it.

12 oz. Bottle
Pours a very nice clean/clear golden yellow color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a nice thick/creamy one-finger off-white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with some citrus. The taste is hoppy, malty, citrusy. Medium body. Overall, a very tasty brew.

12 ounce bottle, $1.50 at Utah State Wine Store (2nd E in SLC.) BOTTLE STATES 5.5% ABV!
Pours a light, bright copper with moderate to light dense white head, dissipates rapidly, leaves little lacing.
Aroma is bright with piney hops.
Taste is really nice: bright, piney, grapefruit hops with a bit of fruit, tangerines or apricots maybe, and a beautiful balance.
Mouth is slightly thin, but not terrible.
A surprisingly excellent beer, that shows what the Utah Brewers Cooperative can do when it puts its mind to it. Very solid stuff from a brewing venture that often chooses the path of least resistance: I'm hoping for more like this.

Poured into Duvel tulip, extremely carefully.
The head on this Pale was explosive. So I went with the gentle pour. Golden in color, with a frothy large white head. Carbonation streams are all over, and don't seem lacking at all. The lacing on this beer is crazy looking, it makes intricate patterns lining the glass. Almost like stained glass, with only one color. White.
The smell is excellent, and reminds me of another beer almost point for point. I am just trying to recall which. Large citrusy hop nose, with a layer of pale malt. Strong and pleasing on the nasals. Nose is clean and perfection for a Pale.
Taste is quite refreshing, and less hoppy than the nose. Crisp pale malt lays delicately on the palate. A piney bitterness midway, along with carmalized malt sweetness. The bitterness lingers for quite a while, all the while still maintaining its strong malt backing. The taste is amazing and jaw dropping for a 4%abv beer. Perfectly balanced, and full of flavor.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly full, and drinkability is exceptional.
I will no longer say that stronger beers equal more flavor. This beer has made me a believer. It's full of flavor and low in the abv department.
Much thanks to John for spoiling me with this one.

Pours a one finger white head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Clear light amber color. Good carbonation and light-medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Starts hoppy, some malts midway but like all pales finishes hoppy with bitter after taste. $1.50 for a 12oz bottle from Utah DABC Salt Lake City, Ut. I bought this in May 2006 and it tastes fresh; the bottle has the ABV at 5.5%.

This beer pours a light golden color with a finger of head that doesn't fall too quickly. The nose is nice, with some sweet caramel and spicey and peppery hop, and a touch of citrusy hop. The flavor is pretty good as well. The caramel malt comes through first, followed quickly by a mix of hops. They start peppery and spicey and move to a more sweet finish, with a nice residual hop linger. The feel is moderate to thick with a moderate carbonation. Right about where I want it. Overall, this is a very drinkable beer. The flavors are pretty darn good for this style. I would have it again.

Unfiltered golden with an ivory head, decent carbonation and decent lace. Nice flowery hop aroma and flavor. Great balance. Medium bodied, creamy and smooth.
Hard to belive this one is really 4%ABV as stated on the label. If it's true, this could be one of the best APA's I've had at this low alcohol content.
Thought this one was 5.5% and sold in Utah ABC stores -- maybe a Utah poster can confirm.

The beer pours a nice clear amber color, gregarious beige head and sheets of lace. Nose is some what floral, with malt tones also noticed. Front is malt sweet, the top has a medium mouthfeel. The beer finishes with a modicum of carbonation, potently hopped, the aftertaste dry and long lasting. As with "Mikey", I like it.
