This medium-bodied, American style, unfiltered wheat beer is brewed with a special Alt Bier yeast. That creates subtle citrus flavors that balance perfectly with the aroma and bitterness of Tettnanger hops and the delicate flavor of the malted wheat. Serve Squatters American Wheat with a lemon wedge for a refreshing treat.

L:. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a small white head and nice fingers of lacing.
S:. Slight bit of citrus, notes of wheat, notes of clove and a slight banana, very simple aroma.
T:. Slight bit of lemon, lots of wheat, bit of banana and clove, very average here/wheat taste.
F: Creamy smooth is easy drinking.
O:. Very average wheat beer and based on the can meant to appeal to the Budweiser folks.

At the pub in downtown Salt Lake City. Sometimes you want a beer that could pass for lemonade, I’m not being snarky, I really like it. I’d order another but there are others to try. Cloudy yellow, smells of lemon, tastes of water, light refreshing feel, very okay.

"American" and "Hefeweizen" should not really be used in the same sentence, unless you're saying, "I'm an American enjoying a Hefeweizen". It's like Chinese Tacos, or Italian Sushi, or a Corvette with a governor on it. They do not bode well for each other. Now that I'm looking at the scores it's possible I could have left well enough alone and skipped this one, but I'll try to be as open as I can.
The pour is a golden honey amber, with a tall fluffy head. Nice haze in the body, no sediment, 80% opaque. Looking right on, so far.
The aroma is clove and banana, with touches of coriander and spice. Certainly smells like a winner.
...........Where is the flavor??? It tastes like a Miller Lite with a banana hunked in it. There is so much of nothing here that I don't even know what I'm reviewing. Am I reviewing the consistency? It's water. Am I reviewing the smell? It was deceiving! As far as flavor...it's pretty much nothing, but a hint of bread finishes it, which actually adds a micrometer of depth, but not enough to actually boost itself to reach my taste buds...
The feel is water, and then carbonated water.
Overall, what the hell? This is a terrible excuse for a Hefeweizen. It's an okay beer, but label it as an American Light Wheat beer - and yeah, not really a recognized style, but they may have invented it here.
