Wasatch Chocolate Coffee Blonde Ale has a medium, white head, a hazy, bubbly, golden appearance, with minimal glass lacing. The aroma is of cold-press coffee, but the flavor is of lemon, white wheat, white bread crust, and mild bitterness, with a coffee background. Mouthfeel is medium, and Wasatch Chocolate Coffee Blonde Ale finishes medium dry. I detected no chocolate flavor.

Pours an effervescent gold with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. Good head retention average lacing

S: Cocoa not much else

T: Follows the nose, a little grainy/bready sweetness as wellup front, plus dryness, some coffee grounds too. dryness comes on as this warms, carbonation becomes prickly, then more coffee grounds. Finish is biiter on the verge of astringent with some dryness

MF: Light bodied, fairly firm carbonation

Just didn't work for me, the lack of body really detracted. This way worse than what Wasatch usually delivers

Feb 23 Salt Lake Airport.

Pours golden yellow and very clear. Not bad except what was a thin fizzy head dissipates quickly.

The smell is pretty good. Nice coffee nose that you’d expect on a coffee porter or stout. Interesting

The taste is pretty good. Kind of different. Reminds me of Founders Pale Joe but weaker. Still kind of enjoy it. Don’t really get much chocolate but the coffee taste carry’s this one enough.

The feel is pretty smooth. The fizzy head didn’t effect the feel at all and it’s is an easy drinker. The 4% probably has a lot to do with it but it’s enjoyable.

Overall, wasn’t expecting this to be anything but a dumper and to my surprise I enjoyed it. If you like coffee Beers this one is worth the pour.

Found this at Winter Innovation Summit at U Utah.
a) Fills the bill as creamy blonde ale, lack luster head, clear body.
S) As promised aromas of chocolate and coffee.
T) Interesting take, flavor packed good last beer of evening?
O) Would blind test against other chocolate coffee beers such as Carton (which are much more ABV)
