This does have the characteristic fragrant Kölsch nose. Golden and foamy in the Pilsener glass.

Very light and quite tart. Virtually no malt with a watery mouthfeel. Faint aftertaste of crackers, but barely a hint of hop flavor. A little sweetness in the aftertaste.

Nice creamy foam-up in the mouth is the best feature, and for a hot, dry day, that's almost enough. Not a particularly great example of a Kölsch. More like a watery lager, but saved by that aromatic initial whiff of hops. From a Salt Lake City supermarket

Poured into a stange at 41 degrees.

Appearance: A rock solid two finger head that has really good retention. The head is foamy and white in color. The color of the beer is medium straw with golden yellow hues. There is a lot of effervescence in the beer. The clarity of the beer is clear to brilliant.

Nose: A very nice fruity aroma that has notes of apples and pears. There is a subtle yeast aroma. The malt is mild and hard to detect.

Taste: A nice supple soft flavor of fruit and a shallow dryness. The notes are apple, pear, and yeast. There is a subtle note of pilsner malt.

The mouth feel is carbonated, a subtle dryness, and touch astringent.

Overall: The body of the beer is medium light and the finish is medium light. This is a wonderful Kolsch, and presents very well on the palate. I am very surprised by this beer. I have tried a few kolsch's and they either have been too harsh or to shallow.

12 oz. bottle.

Clean golden straw body. Small, gauzy, eggshell-white head. OK lacing. Grainy, cereal malt nose, with wisps of apple-y fruit. Maybe a touch of leafy, herbal hops. Lightly toasted malt and some metallic hop bitterness up front. Sweetish biscuit malt with notes of apple, pear, and honey. Light bitterness in the finish with peppery, funky, noble hops. Lingering cereal sweetness. Light-bodied with a lively enough feel. Goes down nice and easy on a warm late summer evening.

Appearance: Pours out a golden-hued body with a smallish, white head.

Smell: Lightly sweetish, grainy sniffs of light pale and pilsener malts with some mild notes of white grapes and Noble hops.

Taste: Light pale malts with some pilsener malts in there as well. Faintly grainy. Slight white grape fruitiness. Subtly spicy, floral hops with a medium-low bitterness. Finishes dry and lightly grainy.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Drinkability: A reasonable, decent Kölsch out of Utah of all places.

A light golden colored body with a small, white, fizzy head that doesn't have a lot of retention and only leaves scarce lacing.

A malty nose comprised of mostly of light, biscuitly malt. A touch of light lemon.

The malt tastes a little bit biscuity and a little bit like cracker. Very light noble-type hops provide a spicy flavor. Some light lemon flavors also.

Very light, moderate carbonation.

A decent beer, an easy drinker like most of the members of the style.

Appearance: Pours a clear light golden color with a foamy head that fades rapidly but leaves some dots of lacing on the way down

Smell: Biscuity malt, with some grainy lemon esters

Taste: Biscuity, up front, with a lemony grain flavor developing by mid-palate; after the swallow, the fruitiness persists but is nicely balanced by the malt

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Drinkability: A pretty fair stab at the style; nicely balanced and refreshing

Thanks, Wasatch, for the opportunity

I got this bottle from Wasatch. Thanks John!

The pour is a clear straw gold with a 2 finger head of foam.

The smell is of light citrus and maybe some grain.

The taste is light notes of citrus, mostly lemon, some sweet malt, and some grain.
A pretty good taster.

I found the mouthfeel on the thin side with the carbonation level about medium.

Drinkability? It's good as most of examples of the style that I've tried. Itis worth checking out.

I picked this one up at the co-op beer store in Salt Lake City. It's just came off this week, so I was excited to try it. This one was a disappointment for me; I expected more than a semi-robust lager. Well...I only got 2, so I'll keep the other one for a non-picky moment and hope for something more exciting out of their other seasonal brew which I'll look forward to trying later today w/the bbq a ragin'. Brewmaster Seasonal? Sorry guys, I love you, but maybe what I'd expect from brewmaster @ big box brew house not Brewmaster Utah. Dang. Sorry, but I can not tell a lie. Hey..."Wasatch" in slc not only gave it a good review, but I think he liked it more than I did. I'm pretty sure that he's better versed on his brews, so take his opinion. Hey, plus...I had it on Friday, 2 days ago, so maybe it was better than my notes;) Cheers!

Pours a nice clean/clear golden yellow color, nice carbonatin, nice little fizzy white head, not much sticky lacing on this one. The nose is malty, slight hop note, very slight spice. The taste is slightly sweet, slight hoppy notes, some spice's. Medium body, the finish is slightly dry and bitter. Drinkable, a pretty tasty brew.
