This 20th Annibrewsary Lager is a traditional German Marzen. Biscuit like character softly blends with notes of light toffee to give this malt driven lager its true Marzen character. German noble hops offer an eloquent balance to the malt complexity and make this medium bodied lager wonderful to enjoy by all. Marzens are often the drink of choice at Oktoberfest celebrated late September to early October. Prost!

Big 750 ml bottle from the brewery poured into my perfect pint. No freshness date on the bottle, but nothing to worry about here.
Appearance: A gorgeous clear lightish amber with a white cap that came from two fingers of foamy head that settled slowly and left irregular lacing.
Smell: Malt with a caramel influence. Also a touch of apples and yeast? (a lager?)
Taste: A solid rich malty caramel beery goodness. My usual ales will have a run for their money from this beer, so much good flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium to thick smooth mouthfeel, additionally middling carbonation to lift the malty richness.
Overall: A really good, if expensive ($6) example of an Oktoberfestbier. Does not stand out from other Oktoberfest biers I have had recently, with days between the tastings.

A very tasty Oktoberfestbier, extremely clean and hits all the right buttons. This is one of the styles that you have to remind yourself that this is it, a amberish lager than is malt forward and still very drinkable. This is where Squatters lands with this one, perhaps so malty that it could be confused for a bock.

Appears a copper toned amber with an off white head that fades into a mild cap. Scattered bits of lacing.
Smell is of buttered caramel corn and not in a good way. Sour notes. Meh...not digging it.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, tart, and wrong...just wrong.

Special thanks goes out to Wasatch for this AWESOME extra in a recent trade. 18oz special edition, very cool looking bottle.
A: Dirty orange brown/copper color, much like an old penny with a cream colored cap, great head retention, pretty fair lacing, nice color. Fairly cloudy. Nice looking beer.
S: Big time caramel malt profile, huge malts here, has some brown sugar, and molasses smells as well. Smells very tasty and right on for the style. Big time malt bomb.
T: Once again caramel malt sweetness, tastes almost exactly like chewing on a caramel, slightly molasses, brown sugar, tastes almost exactly like it smells, only more delicious. Has a few chocolatey notes as well. Very tasty.
M: Fairly thin, light carbonation, dry, and smooth. Awesome.
D: Goes down entirely too easily. I understand this is a special reserve beer, but I could easily see this as my fall session beer. Excellent flavors, goes down very easy, and just all around tasty.

Pours a very nice clean/clear golden dark color, nice carbonation, nice little one-finger plus creamy off-white head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, sweet, very slight spice, and caramel. The taste is malty, sweet, a nice little spice note, and a very nice touch of caramel. Medium body. Drinkable, this is a pretty tasty brew, hit's the spot, recommended.
