Serving Type: 600 mL Bottle
L- Pours an opaque black colour topped by a mountainous tan head. Excellent retention with thick lacing.
S- Dark roast coffee, lactose, chocolate malt, herbal hops
T- Much of the same with a little bit of spice and caramel sweetness. Nice herbal hop finish
F- Light-Medium body and moderate carbonation.
O- Not a huge fan of the style but I did enjoy Epik. Nice mix of roasty Stout flavours and the hoppiness of a IPA

A: Looks really good. Pours dark brown, translucent color. Head is strong dark tan color, quite creamy looking. It has a really good retention and lacing. Wonderful looking beer.
S: Smell is very faint. But what there is is nice. There is a bit of powdered cocoa, milk chocolate, some faint candied grapefruit and a bit of hard water and fake vanilla.
T: There is a light amount of chocolate milk in there. Some light grapefruit rind kind of hops. Slightly sweet. But, overall the taste is very light in intensity. Some cashews maybe? It's too inoffensive for the genre, but it's ok tasting.
M: It's too sticky for the genre but the weight is correct for the genre.
O: I consider American Black Ale one of the easiest style of beer to produce and this is ok I guess. There isn't enough chocolate AND hops to fit the genre. But it isn't actively bad either.

Bottle: poured a black color ale with a large light brown foamy head head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light green hops notes with some dry roasted malt notes is interesting. Taste is a mix of chocolate malt notes with some green hops notes with light bitter notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed but doesn’t really stand out from the crowd of black IPA’s.

No date?!?!
A:
Cola brown little ruby in the light with a huge fuzzy mocha head. Settles clumpily. Almost opaque. Gloppy, sloppy lace. (4)
S:
Chocolatey roast aroma with nuts right off the bat. Some juicy citrus, pine sap, earthy, nutty malts. (4)
T:
Even, nutty malt flavor with some caramelized sweetness and bright citrusy hop flavor throughout. (4)
M:
Thinnish medium body with active carbonation and a soft malty/resinous finish. (4)
O:
Very tasty beer.
Like a hopped up American stout. Nice mellow flavor on the malt lets the hops shine a lot. As it warms up the flavors kind of separate a little (not in an ideal way). Brown ale malt flavor with earthy, lemony hops. Would have again. (4)

Nice pitch black beer with a. Ig off-white head.
In the nose I only smell dark chocolate but it smells really good.
Good flavor of chocolate and coffee. I don't really taste the hops but you definitely feel the bitterness. Also On the label it says there's notes of tobacco and I thought it was I joke but I really feel it in the mouth.
I really like it but I expected a hoppier taste.

The spelling according to the brewery is EP°K and it was EP*K at Bitter Tasting Room in Vancouver where I tried the stuff. The brewery calls it a "Stout IPA," which seems like an adequate description. Attractive dark russet color with an off-white long-lasting foam in the imperial nonic.
It's very bitter. The body is thin but it's spritzy on the tongue. Charred grain dominates and then the bitterness never relents. It's strange because this seems devoid of any hop aromatics. This is almost undrinkable.
