Bottle at Moeder Lambic. Appearance is clear magenta with a big bubbled head.
Smell is funky and dirty, very bright menthol and red fruits. Extremely unusual and quite nice, it keeps opening up new layers of depth.
Taste is a little milder than the nose, more wine like then anything (it was aged in red wine barrels with black currant), tannic and minty, with a tart, lingering finish. A massive attack of nuance.
Mouthfeel is dry, tannic, medium-light.
Drinakability is solid. This is a really interesting Cassis, most notably the herbal notes, mint, rosemary. It finally dawned on me that it reminds me of my favorite desert, 1 scoop each of raspberry and lemon gelato, with a mint sprig garnish, and now I'm really digging it! On the other hand, it's an expensive one-off I'll surely never have again, which is a bummer...
