On-tap at Volo.

Beer is black with a moderately-sized off-white head. Decent retention and lacing.

Nose contains dry cereal and is quite bready. Not bad, but really doesn't reveal what the taste is actually like.

Taste contains cocoa, roast malt and both citrus and tropical fruit (grapefruit, orange. Quite good. Hops are strong but the malt still packs a punch.

Medium bodied, highly carbonated. A bit oily. Bubbles are too strong for my taste.

Overall, quite a good flavour but with some weaknesses.

On tap at Volo. Fresh-Coffee and hops, leaning on the coffee and really too much about it. Within the style, decent drinkability, not the best Representative of it.Medium mouthfeel, piney hops, tad of grapefruit, decent though not the best integration of the style.

A - I had this on tap at Vices Et Versa in Montreal. This beer came to me in a small 10oz glass. It was extremely murky. It was kind of a dirt brown color and looked like a waterdowned milkshake. This was not to appealing to me, but I gave it a shot anyway.

S - There is a big hop presence in the beer with some underlying earty tones and a touch of malt showing through.

T - Huge hop taste up front followed by a slight malt pressence with a bitter finish. The hops take control of this beer and the bitterness at first is overwhelming, but after a couple of sips it seems to mellow out some. There is some dark roasted malts and almost like an earthy taste that chimes in through the sip.

M - This felt kind of thin for the "look" of the beer. It has light carbonation and the bitterness sticks around for a while.

O - This was a really good IPA but it just does not look appealing at first. I wish I knew more about this beer.
