Purchased and sampled in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, the clear 1/2 liter bottle features "S&X" embossed on the glass above the fold label with a black S and white X. The letters stand for "Solod" (malt) and "Khmel" (hops). Those are both ingredients here, but so is rice. Best before 9/16/06, I opened it on 4/5/06.

Pours a clear light yellow under a 1.5 finger white head that fades fairly quickly, leaving collar but no lace. The strong adjunct grain nose is quite unpleasant. The mouth is light and very prickly. We've got a very sweet adjunct malt taste, like the worst of the macro lagers. There is a very slightly hops presence - just a hint that disappears immediately. Not a good experience. Avoid.
