Purchased and sampled in northern Kazakhstan, the green 1/2 liter bottle has a small oval white, red and gold lable with little more than the name. No explanation of what 130 refers to, nor why the brew is called "light" despite the ABV content. The bottom of the bottle is designed to be a bottle opener - put the top of one bottle into the hold on the bottom of a second bottle, and twist. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 8/16/06, I opened it on 4/8/06.
Pours a clear light yellow under a 1/2 finger white head that fades faster than soda, leaving as much lace as a soda does. The strong macro nose is full of malt and adjuncts. The mouth is light and prickly. The taste starts with a strong, sweeting malt opening, followed by a fairly strong metallic hop bite. The bitterness lingers, changing to espresso with a hint of floral. The beer is a bit harsh, a bit unfinished. Claims to be a "sparkling" beer - it is that, as there is something reminiscent of champagne here.
