Purchased and sampled in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, this brown 1/2 liter bottle features a multi-colored label with a grinning old man in the center. The name is basically a Russified version of "Johnny Be Good." Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 11/17/06, I opened it on 4/7/06.
Pours clear gold under a thin 1/2 finger white head that is gone in a flash, leaving no traces. The nose is strong of sweet bad watermelon. The mouth is very prickly and light. There's lots of sickly sweet malt here - the classic Soviet bad watermelon taste. The only thing mmissing is the metallic hops, as there are basically no hops at all. No finish. No aftertaste. No good.
