Purchased and sampled in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, the brown 1/2 liter bottle features a small tapered neck and a brown and gold label featuring a hops cluster under the name, which is in English. The back label is in Kazakh and Russian. Ingredients conform to the purity law.
Pours a clear pale brown under a 1.5 finger beige head with some contour but not much staying power. The mild caramel nose has a touch of floral hop that is quite enticing. The mouth is light and well carbonated. A slightly sweet caramel malt flavor opens, followed by a pretty solid hop bitter and spice response. The finish is characterized by dryness at the back of the throat. This is followed by a pleasant sweet and bitter aftertaste. Not bad at all.
