Purchased and sampled in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, the brown 1/2 liter bottle comes with a gold, brown and white label with a big D in a red circle above the name and a hops cluster below. The ingredient list conforms to the purity law. Best before 7/16/06, I opened it on 4/4/06.
Pours a clear light yellow under a short-lived bubbly off-white head that disappears completely in no time. The nose is strong, sickly-sweet and metallic. The mouth is syrupy heavy and lightly carbonated. The taste opens with sweet raisin, followed by harsh metallic bitter. The finish is raw, like chewing nails. The sweetness returns for the aftertaste, but cannot mask the bitter. Nasty.
