33cl bottle, bb in 22m.
Reddish black colour, brown foam.
Nose is a let-down, quite muted, melanoidin/caramel notes with a bit of chocolate is all there is.
Taste concentrates on licorice with a tad of chocolate and coffee. But again, disappointingly timid. Bitterness is hard to believe to be quite the 60EBU claimed, but it is perhaps the sweetness that masks it. Body is way too thin as well. Short aftertaste which is a sin in this style.
Overall, hard to believe this would age well. Way too little roasted aroma, bitterness or body to transform. Will probably be like a watery porter with cardboard notes in 2021. I hope I am wrong. I applaud the intention of producing a vintage imp, but from my own experiments I would aim for a much bolder profile in the beginning.
