Drinking out of a large wine goblet at a roof top bar in Santiago.
Smells somewhat smoky, dark malt.
Good smooth mouth feel.
Nice creamy smooth taste. Hints of chocolate but somewhat muted.

This is a great stout. Creamy, bitter, with a nice toasty flavor and a thick mouthfeel. Not the most complex stout you have ever had but one that satisfies the palate and keep you asking for more.

Acquired a single bottle at a Chedraui supermarket on Hwy 307 south of Cancun, north of Tulum. Decent copy of Guinness extra stout. A little lighter than that overall, and a solid option for something a little heavier than Modelo Negra.

Appearance: Pours a coffee brown color with ruby highlights; capped with an ecru head that leaves a few strands
Smell: Roasty and slightly ashy, with caramel and coffee undertones
Taste: Roasted grains, up front, with developing caramel and coffee tones; sweet finish with a bit of a cafe con leche character
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A very light stout by the standards we are used to in the US, but it has some nice flavor and I particularly enjoyed the finish

Deepest black color with a thin caramel head, but leaving laces.
Predominant aroma of coffee and caramels.
Likewise flavor of coffee, earthy and grassy hops, caramels, lots of licorice and roasted malts. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation.
Decent Stout, tasty and not shallow, though a bit heavy on the malt.
