Served on Draft
Appearance- Amber color. Almost a light amber reddish.
taste - Nice smooth taste. mild hops, nice bitterness, and slight syrup taste. Would prefer it to be more hoppy for such a high abv
smell- Not a very strong hoppy smell but not abad smell.
mouthfeel- Kind of syrupy on the palate. still smooth going down
drinkability- overall a nice beer. I recommend the XXXX to any ipa drinker visiting orland fl!

Had this beer on tap at the new Seadog Steak and Ale in Northborough MA. The bartender told me it was 8%abv.
It poured a mildy opaque tan body with a thick offwhite head.
Nose was clean and malty with a strong malt presence. Not an overwhelming hop smell(or at least in the bar)
Taste is full bodied and very thick. It runs a fine line between DIPA and barleywine. Lots of rich caramel malt and a big citric hop taste and bitterness that blends well against the malt. very sweety sugary malt which is why I say it leans more towards barleywine rather than DIPA. Ends very clean without a huge bitter aftertaste.
Seadog has always been one of those gimicy (blueberry, hazelnut, etc?) 90's holdover "microbrew" breweries for me. They're good, just nothing spectacular but always solid. So I don't actively seek their beers out, this however is OUTSTANDING!! Easily holds it's against the big boys like Stone and others. Why they don't release this in a 22oz is beyond me. There were 7 other Seadogs on tap and I ordered this for a second round. Stellar beer.

Tap at brew pub in northborough. Since I had never heard of this one and it wasn't on the website, (and looked like Shipyard as it has the same name) I asked another waitress as well. She confirmed it was Sea Dog, so either 2 waitress are incorrect at this place or this is a new beer by them.
Pours a big fluffy 1.5 finger head fades slowly with lacing over copper reddish orange hazy beer.
Nose had earthy hops, hints of citrus fruit and other fruity hops, not a huge hop nose, some malts as well caramel, toffee, etc.
Taste comes on bitter and strong, earthy chewy almost candy hops, a flavor like hop extract, spicy hops but no real fruit this time. Then malts, sweet and a bit syrupy, candy, caramel, toffee, chewy malts. Finishes still fairly sweet chewy and spicy hops and pretty bitter, little sticky, long lingering bitterness. Booze is masked by the sweetness and bitterness.
Mouth is a bit heavier bodied, decent carb, just a hint of booze.
Overall not bad, lots of malts and hops but not a lot of hop flavor, booze is hidden well, no off or bad flavors.
