The first thing I noticed when I poured it from the 500 mL bottle to a pint glass was how fizzy it was. The bubbles never ceased as long as there was beer left in the glass. The head was thin with big bubbles than didn't really stick around. The surface of the beer in the glass was interesting looking, I can't really explain it other than there was strange surface tension wrestling with the ascending bubbles.

The smell has strong fruit smells, although the body is rather light. The aftertaste yields a caramel sweet, slight nutty taste. Doesn't finish the best.

Not bad for my first pale lager.

Pretty much classic noble hop aroma. Smells like a certain classic czech pilsner. Some grainy malt aroma underneath, but it's the hops that get noticed.

Pale straw color and clear. Initial big head fades to a thin but solid white layer. Fine tiny carbonation bubbles rise around the glass feeding the head.

Sweet malty flavor. The prominant hops from the aroma are not there in the flavor. Bittering hops are also very light. Clean fermentation character common for this style. Really the main flavor component is pale malt and a little cereal grain.

Low to medium bodied and creamy. Fine carbonation level so it's pretty refreshing.

Good standard lager beer. Doesn't seem particularly strong so I assume it's strong relative to their standard beer.

16.9 OZ brown bottle with a neat looking Russian on the label. According to the label, it’s the first Russian Brewery and it was established in 1795.

The beer is a hazy straw color with a large soapy looking head.

The beer smells of peppery hops and a bit of citrus.

My first taste is a bit sour, not sure where that came from! This does not get any better, its slightly medicinal with a bit of metallic taste. Think putting a penny in your mouth. Perhaps this one is spoiled and that’s why its cloudy?

The mouth is soft and a bit buttery, drinkablity is next to nil. Pass on this one comrades! Big Neyt on recommending this one!

This one sits pours a deep dark gold with a tint of copper underneath a firm off white head that fades far too quickly leaving next to no lace in the glass. The nose is sweet and malty, while the mouth is bubbly sweet alcohol. The taste is very complex: malt, alcohol, metal, fruit, sour, sweet and bitter all at once. The finish is sweet and bitter, with the bitterness lingering after the rest is gone. This beer intrigued me, as it is far more interesting than most Russian strong pales, but I really can't say that I liked it.
