Comes in a tall long neck bottle with a colorful label featuring the Razin trademark cossack with his hands on his hips staring out at the consumer. "Ordinar" has nothing to do with ordinary - it is associated with military medal ("orden") winners. Ingredients conform to the purity law. Best before 4/5/04 (a long time for an unpasteurized beer, no?), I opened it on 11/2/03.
Poured a quite standard clear gold under a pretty big white head with very nice retention. Not much lace, though. The nose is pleasantly mild and malty. The mouth is prickly and light. The taste opens with lots of barley in the malt. The hops are both grassy and flowery, leaving a distinct impression that is more spicey than bitter. It's an intriguing taste that grows on you as you take more sips. The bitterness comes out with the finish, leaving a nice combination of flowery and bitter for the aftertaste. This was a good enjoyable beer.
