Standard brown half liter bottle with a pretty slick silvery brown label featuring a sketch of an eagle in flight. Ingredients conform to the purity law. No freshness information.
Pours a slightly coppery gold color under a big bubbly head that fizzles quickly, leaving neither collar nor lace. The nose is malty and smooth. The mouth is light, with a touch of sweetness, and reasonably carbonated. The taste starts as sweet malt, chased by a good mild hoppy bitterness that leaves a pleasant aftertaste. This was a pleasant surprise, worth drinking again.
