Just discovered this fine brew (god rest it's soul) was never formally reviewed. Figgered it's time to write another wrong. Visited the Gardner Ale House for the first time in August 2006, before their official opening. The X-IPA (7.5 abv) was their only 'homebrew' on tap. And their second official beer.
It's an English-style IPA, maybe more American-style in my opinion, and it reminded me of Ipswich in the early growler days. Ipswich being one of the best brews ever! A fine, full-bodied, fruity balanced pale ale. Just outstanding. Stuck with this the whole night despite a nice selection of other microbrews.
