Broken Bean is made with Dean's Beans dark roast , free trade, organic coffee from Central America. These are the good guys of the coffee world working to make positive changes in suffering economies.
We break the bans with a hammer and use 5 lbs of the broken beans to make a 7-barrel batch of stout. The result is at first taste, cold brew coffee. You could drink this at breakfast and feel good about yourself., feel good about life, feel good about going out in the world, or just feel good. This is cold brew coffee with stout beer. There might not be a better marriage of flavors.

Pours jet black with a 2 finger, creamy, dense head. Aroma is mostly coffee. Taste-wise, the coffee is the leading actor here - bright, somewhat bitter, yet smooth. There's a bit of dark chocolate that plays well with the coffee. The mouthfeel is a little thinner than I expected but overall, this is a pretty tasty beer.
