This beer is actually the same beer as the previously Shepherd Neam's Best Bitter, replacing the latter and renamed as such. Tasted by half-pint at the Cask and Glass, a Shepherd Neame's house nr. Victoria station, London.
A: pale copper hue with great clarity; the beer head is thin but tightly foamy with some retention. Looking very fresh and on form~~
S: citric-fruity hops (EKG?) dominates the nose, imparted with a light wave of floral fragrance on a lower layer of damp/muddy hint of Fuggles hops. Balanced, fresh.
T: a good malty input makes a slightly sour-sweet (pear+plum) fruity overtone, leading to a moderately bitter and hoppy aftertaste, while the bitterness from citric hops lingers better than the hoppy aroma or flavour in the mouth.
M&D: smooth and softly carbonated, the texture is ideal for a fresh bitter served on the handpump. An easy-drinking session best bitter, though there's not much in terms of flavour to keep one's interest forever~~

The colour is copper; the low head is airy and off white.
The smell is mild with some notes of smoked ham, bitter hops and a hint of yeast.
The taste is creamy with some American-micro-like hoppy flavours (Fuggles?), the malt is a little bit roasted. The flavours develop into a generous bitterness with a medium-sized body. The aftertaste is bitter with citric/chemical notes.
The carbonation is mild with medium sized bubbles.
