A: Copper, clear filtered with medium low amount of carbonation, and a huge rocky 3 finger head of light beige. Looks like long lasting sea foam.
S: Skunk, malts, honey biscuit, light hops.
T: Honey biscuit, malts, solid toast, solid dull bitterness on the finish. Honey buns though not overly sweet.
M: Medium light body, lots of soda like carbonation, dry tannic finish.
O: Found it at Walmart, in Kunming, China. Rare find for here, so I’m content. Love other beers by this brewer, and this is fine. Skunkiness still existing this day and age due to a clear bottle is sometimes hard to understand, but looks great. Drank December 31st, 2014.

Right let's taste it
Actually much better than expected soapy start and malts finishing in a mellow but spritely hop finish.
I've had worse, I've had much worse, not bad at all.

Clear 500ml bottle, best before Feb 2010, drank Jan 2010 and poured into a vase shaped pint glass.
Looks the part, good golden amber colour with a deep, rich, off-white cream coloured head. Bubbles could clearly be seen rising up through the bright beers body. Some heavy lacing was produced by the head as the beer was consummed.
Ingrediants listed; Barley Malt (95%), Crystal Malt (4.2%) and Hops (0.8%). The hops used must be aromatic ones because they came out in the aroma very well, along with the malts.
The malts dominated the taste, but not turning the beer into a sweet drink or overly malty to be honest. There was a bitterness throughout the tasting, a typical English bitter feel to it really.
The beer was pleasnt without setting the world alight with its flavours or mouthfeel. This is brewed for a supermarket shelf and is good value more than a good beer. I'd give to friends, but might hide the bottle before they saw what it was!

Brewed by Shepherd Neame, but only cost me a quid from Asda. It pours a light amber colour with a standard head which does leave a little lacing. The nose is grainy but very slightly stale with maybe a hint of coffee.
The taste doesn't resemble the smell at all. Excess carbonation refreshes me but renders my tongue numb, followed by a faint maltiness coming through before a one dimensional hop finsih which reminds me mor eof a decent lager than a bitter (or a gold).

ASDA (to my knowledge this is Walmart in Britain) seems to have commissioned this brew at Shepherd Neame (brewer of such legends as 'Spitfire' or 'Bishop's Finger' ...) ... Shepherd Neame do not hide the commissioning which is a good sign ...
the smell is distinctive, with malty, nutty notes dominating ... the taste is nutty too, with hints of green vegetables (leek, spinach) ... a pleasant bitterness makes this a recommended drink ....

Purchased at the ASDA supermarket; coming in a 500ml clear bottle, filtered, and presumably pasteurised as well. BB Nov 08, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.
A: a moderately fizzy, dark orangey golden body carrys on top a well-lasting, creamy off-white froth.
S: refreshingly citric/fragrant-lemony, a little dusty, backed by a sound (not thick) sugary pale malty backbone. The very light floral hints of hops reach a kind of delicate balance w/ the more assertive orangey Goldings, thus outperforming quite a few other bottled products of Shepherb Neame.
T: very mild in flavour while the texture is rather fizzy... malts come surprisingly light, while the hop bitterness and a mild floral hoppiness quietly expand, taking over from the mid-taste and leading to an even quieter, but sound, bitter finish with a touch of boiled yum or sweet potato~~
M&D: the mouthfeel is certainly not the strongest point here, being slightly too fizzy against the relatively weak taste, although the overall palate is quite clean. Overall, this bottled beer doesn't fare lower than quite a few other Shepherd Neame bottled ales; for, a delicate balance is shown somewhere in the glass and also the skunky taste is reduced to the minimum. Still, this ale fares only a little higher than average, though, all thanks to the bitter palate.
