Copenhagen 27/3 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Very old-fashioned round label in yellow and bright blue describing this Pale Ale as Brilliantly Bright. From Shepherd Neame's classic collection and a remake of a beer from the mid 19th century.
Pours clear yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with light sourish notes. Sweet pale malts. Caramel and hints of toffee. Sweet biscuit. A little citrus peeking in.
Light carbonation. Thin, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish and lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
I do not know about the brilliant brightness - but it seems to be a sweetish English Pale Ale which mostly does what it is supposed to.

Bottle. Clear light amber with a thick creamy head. Excellent retention with lacing.
Leafy hop aroma with floral notes. The malt present provides a classic English pale ale aroma.
The balance is there upon tasting. East Kent Goldings are noticeable along with malt biscuit.
Moderate body and carbonation.
Very traditional with no sign of the normally evasive SN yeast flavours.
