Eye: rusty orange - white head which is directly disintegrating.

Nose: Lemony hops with a bit of soapiness.

Tongue: Burst of hops first - then again some hoppy soapiness - not at all unpleasant. Great texture - very good mouthfeel.

Afterthoughts: grapefruity hop bitterness, very well integrated. Really like it - while I am confused about the flavor profile.

Definitely a beer to "assess more often".

Cask at the Bishop’s Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg. Golden brown to copper coloured beer, moderate head. Nutty and moderately hoppy aroma. Nutty and hoppy flavour, also notes of toffee. "Frightfully English" - nice!

A nice surprising hoppy and refreshing drink with a real citrus zesty flavour which makes it very drinkable.

This is a nice hoppy, refreshing and quaffable beer that would be great on a hot summer evening. I'd be interested to try this on cask if i ever found it.

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of March 2012.

Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. A clear orange-amber colour with decent carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a couple of minutes before subsiding to a surface layer. Aroma of caramel malt with fruity ale yeast (Shepherd Neame's signature smell) and a hint of aromatic citrus. Underpinned by stewed hops.

Tastes of caramel malt with a dry finish. Notes of roasted malt, fruity yeast, aromatic citrus and stewed hops. Mild bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly but a bit watery. Aftertaste of bitter roasted malt.

Decent, particularly compared with some other ales from this brewery. A nice aromatic hop note adds a dimension not usually encountered in Shepherd Neame's beers. Worth trying, though unlikely to blow anyone's socks off.

Hoppy refreshing and quaffable

zesty, lively and drinkable with floral notes, pours a nice looking pint a tiny tiny bit on the fizzy side.

Drank as a 'refresher' between a dark mild and a stout, did the job grand.

Not my first choice of beer but glad I have another bottle in for when the dark beers get a bit heavy, man.

500 mL clear bottle poured into a pint glass tumbler.

I've had several Shepherd Neame beers before and they were all okay, but nothing had impressed me all that much. With Canterbury Jack, that has changed--as I like this one a lot.

A: clear, tawny/amber in colour with a moderately foamy white head that leaves a bit of lacing around the glass.

S: really nice bitter/sour scents coming through, malty and rustic all at the same time

T: taste follows the scent but add a bit of tangy something plus a little honey sweetness--very well balanced, not overly complex but more than one thing going on

M: lightly carbonated, fairly light on the tongue

O: a very nice ale that I wouldn't be shy about having again
