Pours a coke-like black with a fizzy tan head that rapidly leaves a patchy film. I was taken aback by the big, smoky maple aroma. The flavor is along similar lines with more coffee grounds,light roast astringent and chocolate and less overt sweetness. Nonetheless it is still "mapley" throughout. It is a little thinner than I like in a porter but still manages to have a decent body. I don't know if I've ever had this much maple in a beer before (they added the syrup post-fermentation and it shows)
