From a 660ml bottle, served in an outsize tulip.
Pours a semi-opaque mahogany brown with a scant finger of creamy suds. The head lasts but a moment before settling back to a wispy cap with a little feeble lacing.
Nose is bourbon and the barrel the bourbon came in, caramel, hay, tea and minerals.
Taste is thinly malty, thin bourbon with lots and lots of tannins, black tea and, really, that's about that. Finishes much like a cup of tea with a shot of bourbon.
Feel is thin and tacky, medium-light bodied and meagerly carbonated.
Overall, a beer that doesn't quite know what it wants to be. Not awful by any stretch but probably not something I'd drink again voluntarily.
