Appearance-pours a decent red color with a medium sized head that sits nicely and sticks around without much disappearing. Red isn't that vibrant.
Smell-caramel roasted malt up front, light spicy hops back it up. A little alcohol fumes comes up. Fairly reserved.
Taste/Mouthfeel-more on the malty side of red ales than the sweet side. Medium mouthfeel with a light mix of caramel and hops on the way down. Finish is smooth with a light touch of caramel and spice. Nothing jumps out that much but it works.
Overall-an ok red ale, worth a try when you are there. A decent representation of the style.
