On cask at Volo's Cask Days 2011, 5.5 ABV and 22 IBUs.
Pours an unfiltered brown with chestnut highlights. Nose has some smoked woodiness, slightly sharp (I need a better descriptor here...) in character with some general caramel sweetness. Typical rauch nose with a touch of hops here as well. Taste has some charred woods, lightly herbal qualities. More caramel, some earthiness/dirt and lingering smoke on the palate. Mouthfeel is a bit watery but doesn't detract from the body, a touch of bitterness. Quite a nice smoked bier, more body could make this real nice.

Cask Days 2011. Serviceable smoked beer. Dark colour. I like this style, and it’s a decent go at it.Above average mouthfeel, thick woody smoke in aroma. Simply but still tasty, and a little sweet not too sweet.Worked very well on cask, as would not have finished it if too carbonated.
