Funny that I live in the Boston burbs and I've been to Uncle Ernie's more times than the Union Oyster House. They have an indoor dining area and a patio, and I've always chosen the patio. They can accommodate big parties no problem, which is a huge plus. Service has been both hit and miss, depending on how busy they are, and on the individual server. Their beer sampler is awesome, a platter tray of 12 beers that puts all other flights to shame. Their seafood is good from what I hear, but I don't like gulf fish, I'm a north Atlantic fish guy. So I go with a steak or their fantastic 3/4 lb cheeseburger. As expected for the north coast beaches, they have delicious key lime pie. It's thick as a brick and so filling I save half for breakfast. Bottom line is that the only reason to not go to Uncle Ernie's is that you've been there a bunch of times and would like something else for a change.

Uncle Ernie's is a pretty good local seafood place, and the view on the back porch is great especially around sunset. The house, which is now Uncle Ernie’s, was built circa 1870, and provides a relaxed atmosphere.

The seafood is locally caught, and always fresh. The staple menu items range in price, usually costing close to $20; however, every night they always have two dishes on special at a reduced price. The servings are quite large, so you get your money's worth.

The beer selection seems to change from time to time. There are several which hang around all the time, but 2 two 3 of the selections change on a quarterly basis.

They don't actually brew their own beer, which can be misleading when you see their advertisements. They get their beer from a brewery located in Atlanta called Sweetwater, and rename the beers to sound as if they're their own.

None the less, Uncle Ernie's is a great place tucked away in the St. Andrew's area of Panama City, Fl.
