Pours clear and golden from the bottle with a small head that quickly dissipates. Moderately pleasant Pilsner style scent with a more malty than bitter flavor. Enjoyable. Drink it in Riga on a ledge overlooking the Baltic!

I hope Aldaris continues to make this line. It is the best beer out of the bottle I have ever tasted. Do not pour it into a glass. Let it warm, and drink it from the bottle. It is a sipping beer. The after taste is wonderful. This is a beer, if you have not been drinking, for the late evening just before bedtime. One will do it. The only other beer I can compare it to is Genesse Cream Ale.

Tall brown 0.5 litre bottle just out of date when opened. I found it in Cambridge with a few other foreign goodies.
I poured it three times into a 0.2 Litre Veltins Pilsner tulip. Looks like a typical Pilsner, golden, clear and bright with a snow white head on top, each pour produced the same result.
The smell was also typical, some grain esters but not a lot of anything else.
The taste, crisp, tangy and with a dry hop bite: again your usual Pilsner attributes.
Mr average in everything about it.

Pilsner-style beers were always popular in the Baltic countries. So it's no surprise that Latvian mega-brewery Aldaris decided to include one in its range.
This Pilsner is pale golden, with beautiful white head and medium amount of carbonation. Smells of hops and herbs.
Start is malty, with sugar giving way to hops in the body. A bit thin for my liking, but not bland and certainly not bad. Aftertaste is bittersweet, quite nice.
A good try, but why should I abandon my Staropramen for this wannabe Pilsner?
